I consult with businesses who sometimes agonize over what to share on social media. They overthink newsfeed postings in an effort to perfect their message. That’s when I remind them that social media doesn’t have to be so much work. It can be fun – and engaging. A photo with a word or phrase can increase likes, spark lively conversation, and even prompt the audience to share. In fact, recent Facebook data reveals that photos increase newsfeed engagement by 120-180%!
That’s a stat worth putting to work. Try posting a few photos – either isolated or as part of a larger strategy – and see what happens. There’s a lot of merit to humanizing your brand, as well. The graphic below offers two examples of incorporating the human element into a post with examples from clients, Mimi’s Bridal Showroom and C & P Automotive (the top portion). I also included a light, humorous image as well as a photo that’s meant to engage or inspire with examples from clients, African Sporting Creations and Maison International New York (the bottom portion).
