My boyfriend and I just returned home from our annual rafting trip in West Virginia. It used to be a small group of 10 people and over the years, has grown to include 80.
All of us were joking around saying in a couple more years we will be making an entire week trip out of this vacation. It is the natural evolution of something great!
We call the trip Waynestock and it is different and special in its own way every year. Seeing people once a year and feeling like no time has passed in between is truly something special.
You are never sure what will happen on the river. We have had great trips and not so great trips, people have been flipped out of their boat, caught in a rapid, all while swallowing a lot of water. Some people have rafted once and will never raft again, others raft every year, while others have had a bad experience and have been determined to get ‘back on the horse’ and rafted again. 
White water rafting is not the only excitement of the trip. While on the river, we have a chance to float through rapids out of the boat and to jump off of Jump Rock. To the right you can see my boyfriend and his brother doing a tandem back flip off the rock.
River Expeditions is the company that provides our amazing guides and a crazy trip down The New River.Going on this trip is like going to Vegas, “What happens on the rafting trip, stays on the rafting trip!”
