We spend most of our day on social media, and as you can imagine, we’ve seen everything. I thought it would be cathartic to share our top (mainly personal) social media pet peeves.
Disclaimer: I share a lot of cat photos, which could be a pet peeve for you!
-
50 hashtags in a Facebook post
-
Relentless selfies
-
Animal social profiles
-
Incessant political rants
-
Those who connect just to spam their MLM opportunity
-
Groups I didn’t join, but was added (usually related to the above)
-
Event invites for an ‘online party’ (also related to the above)
-
Constant meme or video shares, but nothing about you
-
Help us get 10,000 ‘likes’ and save a life
-
A seemingly heartfelt post followed by ‘copy and paste this into your status if you agree’
-
Chain messages
-
Creepers, stalkers and hecklers
I also have a list for professional pet peeves. Perhaps for the next blog? I invite you to chime in…
What are some of your social media pet peeves?
How about brands and companies who only repost from another social channel and spend 0 time actually using a social channel.
That would be a good one for the professional social media pet peeves! I'll keep that in mind! 🙂 Thank you!
Rachel: I am cat fan too, so sharing photos of cats is not pet peeve for me! 😉
