The Secret to Entrepreneurial Success

Just two months ago, my college friend Sierra Michael, started Justrust Clothing, a stylish Christian clothing line. In that time, she’s acquired much business success. I’m  articulary jealous of her ability to grow her Facebook fan base to a whopping 8,400+ fans! Sierra agreed to an interview for this blog to offer some business and marketing insight to the readership. Below is her Q&A. Click here to learn more about how Justrust got its start.

You’ve only been in business a few months. What’s the secret to your success? 

The secret to my success is God. Plain and simple. My desire is to simply spread the word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, specifically, focusing on the importance of trust. We are programed to be self-reliant creatures. God doesn't need you to be self-reliant. He wants you to lean on him. If you live the word, and trust God and his timing, blessings will follow.

What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs?

Follow your heart and start a business that you are passionate about. When you have a passion for what you are doing, success is bound to follow.

A few weeks ago, you learned that Justrust Clothing is going to be worn in a video shoot for two Christian rock music videos by Miracle Made. The video will air in 20 countries and be seen by approximately 300 million people. What was your reaction to this news?

I was ecstatic and very grateful to God. I knew he had provided this opportunity. Miracle Made is an incredible Christian rock band. Before they take the stage, they pray that people watching will see God, not them. He deserves all the glory. Which is the same thing we strive to do at Justrust. Day Star Network (where the network is to air) loved them so much that they actually moved the other bands back so they could record three music videos instead of two.  So Risen Drums artist Kevin Gywn actually ended up wearing three Justrust shirts. 🙂

You grew over 8,000 fans to your Facebook page in just two months.  Do you have any tips you can sharing for growing your fan base?

I give God all the credit for that, too.  People love God! People are passionate about serving God. People love the cross because it is a reminder of how much Jesus loves us and what he endured for US. What a wonderful gift we have been given!  The core of the Justrust logo is the cross.

Some examples of things I did to grow the community:

• Facebook advertising using the Justrust logo. People really like the logo I've had multiple requests from fans asking if it's ok if they get the Justrust logo tattooed on them. That is a pretty sweet compliment!
• I have a lot of giveaways. People enter by "sharing" a certain Bible verse on their wall, etc. It's all about spreading the word. That's what I aim to do. I have been fortunate enough to receive a mountain of blessings.
• "Sharing" contests have also a great way to recruit new fans!  Facebook has proven to be a great way of meeting new people in the industry, as well. Facebook is where I met Miracle Made!

What’s next for Justrust Clothing?

To reach more people and keep spreading the word! Hopefully when people see Justrust t-shirts, they will see the real message… God!
